Summer Reading Club

Each year we write a new program, specifically tailored to the summer reading theme. If you want a reading program that MOTIVATES children to sign up, keep their logs current, and read, READ, READ then you have got to book David Wonders this coming summer. The porgrams are fun, incorporating music, puppets, magic, and tons of familiar books. The kids have a great time and leave excited to start reading about the things they just heard about in the program.

Rates for Public Libraries during the summer are $250 with no mileage charges for most libraries. If you need two shows at the same location, on the same date, performed back-to-back, then the second show is only $150.

Programs for Young Adults

How do you keep those "tweens" engaged and active? Here are a few ideas...

Balloon Sculpture Workshop

We supply everything. The kids learn how to inflate and twist 260 balloons (those are the long skinny balloons) into a variety of shapes and characters. Depending on the age and level of the participants the difficulty of the balloon sculptures will be adjusted from simple, 3-twist, single balloon shapes, all the way up to sculptures that involve many different balloons, varied colors and multiple twists and connections.

Face Painting Workshop

Learn how to paint simple designs on faces. There is more to face painting than art. Learn how to prepare the skin, which paints work and which ones NOT to use, plus how all this fun stuff can be used at birthday parties, festivals, and other fun gatherings.

Intro to Clowning Workshop

Tract The Clown will teach your youth how he has earned a living as a clown for almost 25 years. There is more to clowning than putting on clown make-up (though we will talk about that). Learn about how comedy, clothing, character, and various skills such as juggling and riding a unicycle can all contribute to an amazingly fun career or hobby.

Intro to Magic Workshop

We supply everything. Each participant will get a deck of cards, a hank of rope, and a few other routine items that they will then learn to use to create some amazingly powerful magical illusions. The participants keep the magic props when we finish.

Learn to Juggle Workshop

To learn to juggle three items takes a naturally athletic and coordinated person years of practice to master...NOT! Your youth can learn in ONE DAY how to juggle. We provide all the learning materials but we take them with us when we leave.
